Enfinium’s Parc Adfer Facility Model.

Once again working with Beaufort Bespoke, We were contacted by Enfinium to make a more detailed model of their Parc Adfer Ferrybridge Facilities.

This model was a 1500x1000mm model consisting of two Ferrybridge facilities and their operations. Also included in this model was a railway with cargo trains, power storage facilities, garbage disposal area and roadways with 18 wheeler trucks.

This model was a blend of high detailed models and simplified silhouettes. Highlighting only the ‘important’ facilities at the plant such as the Ferrybridge buildings themselves.

The Ferry Bridge Models.

Enfinium wanted to expand on their previous facility model that they can commissioned Beaufort Bespoke to make for their Visitor centre a couple year prior by enhancing detail and correcting a few discrepancies.

Thankfully I was able to adapt the previous model files created for that project and scale it down to suit this new model. Working once again from a new set of architecture drawings. I was able to fine tune the model to include more comprehensive and recognisable elements. Especially on the far east side of the Ferrybridge building where there are pipes running to storage silos and power generation equipment.

Both Ferrybridge’s 1 & 2 were slightly different however so I had to model 2 of these elements and make subtle changes to make them disguisable from one another.

The Smaller Details.

As previously mentioned, this model showed the whole facility and included several smaller models of transport vehicles including box trucks, railways, and large scale garbage transport vehicles. For a a couple of these models, I was able to purchase them from commercial 3D marketplaces in order to save time as the deadline for this project was quite tight.

However every model was 3D printed in-house by myself ready for assembly and paint. Some models may appear slightly ‘under detailed’. This was a deliberate design choice however as these models needed to be 3D printed and painted after. and these models ended up being very small, so I made the decision to save time and skip some more intricate details as they likely wouldn’t have printed out at that scale anyway.

The smallest model printed ended up being a tiny, 70x30x30mm box truck; so as you can imagine modelling the wheel nuts on that would have been a futile effort.

The Completed Model

Unfortunately, before I had the time to travel to Enfinium's Parc Adfer facilities after our successful installation of the model to take photographs. There was an accident at the facility during some rearranging of their reception and the model was heavily damaged after the glass case was dropped; ultimately decommissioning the model.

So the only photographs I have of the completed model are the some mobile phone pictures of it post accident.

Regardless of that upsetting news, I hope you can look past the damage to see the models detail and arrangement, as well as the base graphic which was also designed by myself.
